Status of the WDCC

The Western Drought Coordination Council ended its second year in spring 1999 with an agreement to go on hiatus for at least one year, depending on drought in the West and on the work of the National Drought Policy Commission.

Status of Drought Report Recommendations: a compilation of recommendations from federal and state-level reports on the drought that struck the Southwest in 1996, prepared by the WDCC's Response Working Group.

Catalog of Drought Communications: examples of different kinds of drought-related communications from a variety of sources, being compiled by the WDCC's Communications Working Group.

Local Drought Response Information: This information was developed by the Preparedness and Mitigation Working Group of the WDCC to help municipal water suppliers compare different approaches to drought planning.
