The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has been a long-term supporter of the NDMC. In recent years a partner agreement with the USDA’s Risk Management Agency (RMA) has supported development of a suite of drought decision-making tools, in collaboration with UNL’s Computer Science and Engineering Department. The NDMC also works closely with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and various groups within it such as the National Climatic Data Center and the National Weather Service. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and the National Aeronautic and Space Administration (NASA) are current major research partners. The NDMC has also worked with the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, and the Bureau of Indian Affairs, as well as state governments and foreign governments. It has worked with many United Nations agencies, including the Environment Program, the Food and Agriculture Organization, and the World Meteorological Organization.
