2018 Amarillo Drought Workshop

In light of the serious drought situation currently affecting large portions of the Southern Plains, the USDA Southern Plains Climate Hub, USDA Office of the Chief Economist, National Drought Mitigation Center, and National Integrated Drought Information System have organized a training workshop that will be held on April 5, 2018 at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service Center in Amarillo TX. The workshop will include three components:

  1. technical training on and applications of the U.S. Drought Monitor, including its use by USDA programs
  2. seasonal weather forecasting tools and processes
  3. USDA agency and local manager perspectives on the current drought.

Who should attend: USDA program field staff; Extension personnel; state, county, and local management officials.

Advance registration is required (no fee); lunch will be provided.
