Lynn Myers, who is a VegDRI advisor, and Sherry Vinton, a member of the Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition, were among those in attendance at the workshop.
The National Drought Mitigation Center, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Risk Management Agency, and the Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition teamed up on August 10, 2009, in Kearney, NE, to sponsor a workshop on new drought-related tools. Tools discussed were the Vegetation Drought Response Index (VegDRI), the Vegetation Outlook (VegOut) and the Drought Planning Guide for Livestock and Forage Producers.
