Precipitation Patterns

Average annual precipitation increases from west to east from South Dakota through Texas.

The magnitude of eastward increases in precipitation increases southward. From Kansas to south Texas, average annual precipitation can increase by 20 in or more during a 2-hour drive on an east bound interstate.
