Who We Are

Grace joined the NDMC in August 2021 as a Graduate Research Assistant after graduating from Western Kentucky University with a B.S. in Meteorology and a certificate in GIS. In May 2023 she completed an M.S. in Natural Resource Science, specializing in Bio-Atmospheric Interactions. One of her interests includes mitigating the effects of changing weather and climate on agriculture.

Prior to starting her work with the NDMC, she interned with the High Plains Regional Climate Center and developed a soil temperature climatology for the northern and central Plains. She also worked for the Kentucky Mesonet where she performed QA on incoming station data and was part of a nocturnal temperature inversion study.

After finishing school, Grace hopes to work as a consulting agrometeorologist to ensure agriculturalists receive and understand pertinent weather and climate information to make the most informed weather-related decisions.
