USDA Support of the US Drought Monitor and Hub Activities with the National Drought Mitigation Center for the Period of 2020-2023

The National Drought Mitigation Center (NDMC) at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL) will work with the U.S. Department of Agricultures (USDA) Office of the Chief Economist (OCE) to enhance its role in providing national-, state-, tribal-, and local-scale drought information services to support the U.S. agricultural sector and multiple USDA agencies, including the USDA Climate Hubs. A three-year USDA-drought center agreement will lead to enhancements of the Drought Monitor and continued collaboration with the USDA Climate Hubs, a set of 10 networks that provide region-specific, science-based information to agricultural and natural resource managers that help them make climate-informed decisions.
