The National Drought Mitigation Center and the Pueblo of Santa Ana, in collaboration with state and federal partners, hosted a workshop for the Middle Rio Grande Basin pueblos of New Mexico as part of the Climate Smart Indigenous Agriculture Project, a collaborative effort funded by the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS). The workshop gave participants the opportunity to engage with local agency representatives, learn about funding opportunities and soil health programs and brainstorm ideas for on-farm drought and climate resilience projects. This event was the first of several outreach activities planned for the upcoming year, including hands-on trainings and student internships.
