The University of Alaska Fairbanks Extension, National Drought Mitigation Center, and United States Department of Agriculture Northwest Climate Hub are hosted two workshops in Alaska which focused on precipitation and temperature as it relates to agriculture; discuss drought indicators and monitoring; give attendees an opportunity to engage in a drought scenarios exercise; and focus on peer-to-peer learning related to water mitigation strategies to contend with dry and variable conditions for producers and home gardeners.
