We welcomed Stephanie Granger and Ali Behrangi from NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory at Cal Tech May 19-20 to discuss using satellite-derived data for drought detection, monitoring and assessment, and forecasting. They met with climatologists from the National Drought Mitigation Center and representatives of the Center for Advanced Land Management Information Technologies, both based in the School of Natural Resources at the University of Nebraska. In the photo are, from left, Mark Svoboda, NDMC, Behrangi and Granger, and Tsegaye Tadesse and Brian Fuchs, both NDMC.
